As the Southwest Regional Vice President of SCORE, Mr. Muhammad is responsible for, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, Colorado, and Wyoming. At SCORE, our mission is to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education. Mr. Muhammad’s focus has been strengthening the technological competitiveness of small businesses across the country through coordination of the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs keeping small business on the cutting edge of next generation research and development. He has worked to increase the use of small businesses to meet Federal research and development needs, to foster and encourage participation by minority and disadvantaged persons in technological innovation, and to commercialize results from the research.

Mr. Muhammad is also an Interise StreetWise ‘MBA’™ Instructor and Instructor Support Coach for the South Central Region which includes Houston, TX, Little Rock, AR, Weslaco, TX, San Antonio, TX, Salt Lake City, UT, Dallas, TX, Albuquerque, NM, Mobile, AL, Memphis, TN, and Greensville, SC. The impact through this initiative as reported by The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is a catalyst for expanding opportunities for under served communities. Since its inception in 2008, graduates have secured more than $3.16 billion in government contracts and accessed $300 million in new financing. They’ve also reported creating nearly 6,500 new full-time jobs. Sixty-two percent of surveyed participants reported an increase in revenue while 70 percent of those surveyed reported maintaining or creating new jobs in their communities.

Mr. Muhammad’s work teaching entrepreneurs and corporate executives in developing business growth strategies have earned him the U.S. SBA Minority Small Business Champion of the Year, Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, and SCORE Platinum and Diamond Chapter of the Year Awards
